Eni Norge awarded operatorship in the Barents Sea

Eni Norge has been awarded operatorship in Licence no 657 in the Awards in Predefined Areas round for 2011 (APA 2011). The licence is in the Barents Sea and close to the Goliat field development.

In Licence no 657 Eni Norge has been offered operatorship and an 80 percent share, while Petoro holds a 20 percent interest. Eni Norge is pleased with the award. It confirms our long term strategy for Eni Norge and for the Barents Sea.

The APA 2011 was announced by the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy on 17 January 2011 and comprised 60 production licenses, in the Barents Sea (4), Norwegian Sea (22) and the North Sea (34). 42 companies were offered participation interests and 27 of these companies were offered operatorship.

Eni Norge is part of Eni, the Italian major integrated energy company with activities in more than 70 countries.
