Contracts

Several hundred people have been employed in equipment manufacture and installation linked to the Marulk field from 2010 and up until production start-up 2nd April 2012.

As of the third quarter of 2011 the Marulk project has entered into binding contracts worth a total of NOK 2.5 billions.

The following contracts have been awarded:

Seabed production systems – FMC

Installation of production systems – Acergy

Installation of production pipeline – Technip

Delivery of production pipeline – Sumitomo/Tenaris

Flexible riser – NKT

Modifications to the Norne FPSO – Aker Solutions

Eni Norge is handling contracts related to the drilling rig and various service contracts related to drilling and well completion. Drilling operations on Marulk winter 2011/2012 were carried out by using the Scarabeo 5, which is owned by Saipem.

Sandnessjøen chosen as supply base

The “Helgelandsbase” in Sandnessjøen has been selected as support base for Marulk during drilling and well completion operations. Based on both technical and commercial considerations, Eni Norge is satisfied that the local option is the best.

Marine operations

Technip started laying the pipelines using the Apache II in March 2011, and completed the operation during Spring 2011. Acergy/Subsea7 completed installation of the umbilical and riser during the second quarter of 2011 using the Scandi Acergy.

The well template and manifold were installed during the second quarter of 2011.  Marine operations were completed during July 2011.

Rock dumping

We have currently dumped 21,144 tonnes of rock transported from Sandnessjøen at the Marulk location. We expect that most of the remaining volume will be transported and dumped at Marulk during the autumn.

Drilling operations and well completion

During third quarter of 2011 the drilling operations and well completion using the Scarabeo 5 started. These operations were completed during first week of April 2012.  The total investment in the Marulk field is around four billion Norwegian kroner.

Several hundred people have been employed in equipment manufacture and installation from 2010 and up until production start-up 2nd April 2012.
