The Goliat FPSO is built and equipped to meet high standards linked to in-built safety and a healthy working environment adapted to the climatic conditions in the Barents Sea.
Goliat is the first oil field to be developed in the Barents Sea, and thus sets the industry standard as activity migrates ever further north.
Together with our partner Statoil, Eni has chosen to develop the field using Sevan Marine’s floating, cylindrical production facility – the Sevan 1000 FPSO.
This platform concept was judged to be the best following a design tender competition for the Goliat FPSO contract. It was also decided to select Sevan as supplier of the Goliat project’s future detailed design phase linked to the FPSO contract.
Specially-tailored to the Arctic climate
The Sevan 1000 concept is designed for operations under the challenging conditions encountered in the Barents Sea and introduces new winterisation systems, among other things. It is also equipped to meet the strict environmental requirements stipulated for operations in the Barents Sea.
New concept ensures safer buoy-loading
A new concept for off-loading from the Goliat FPSO and loading onto shuttle tankers has been developed, making it possible to carry out operations around the entire circumference of the platform.
