Contracts linked to the operational phase

The Goliat FPSO is being built in Ulsan in South Korea and in the summer of 2013 it will be transported to the field offshore Hammerfest.

Production is planned to commence in the final quarter of 2013, when the field will enter the operational phase.

The first contract modules which will be awarded are:

• Maintenance and modification, including land-based engineering support
• Operational support, operator services and campaign maintenance
• HVAC Service Agreement

In the course of the year an additional seven or eight contract fields will be presented.

The operational phase of the Goliat project will last for at least 15 years once the field comes on stream late in 2013. Annual expenditures linked to operations are estimated to be about NOK 1 billion.

At a working seminar with the supply industry in Hammerfest on 21 June 2011, Eni Norge presented the framework conditions for its contract strategy linked to the operational phase of the Goliat project.

With an eye to giving regional enterprises an opportunity to participate in competitive tendering in various fields, an approach has been adopted which facilitates a series of small-scale deliveries while placing requirements on local presence.

Through collaboration with Petro Arctic, regional company organisation has been studied with regard to capacity and skills. Information and experience from other sources, including the Achilles database, are also used to ensure a broad-based approach in this area.

Arrangements have been made to enable participation in the individual contract packages through alliances with local enterprises and major companies in other parts of the country.

Goliat will provide 150-200 jobs both onshore and offshore in addition to those created by way of spin-off effects for the supply industry.

Eni Norge has established an operational organisation in Hammerfest which will consist of 50-60 people at the commencement of production in 2013.
