Eni Norge has defined research and development in the Arctic as a “focal point” within the company and is supporting several development projects in these areas.

In recent years many new systems have been developed which are specially adapted to Arctic coastal waters.
Oil spill preparedness
Eni Norge has participating interests in 50 licenses. These include a 30% interest in the Skrugard discovery.
Exploration activity
As a participant in several licenses on the Norwegian shelf, and currently also as operator, we have maintained high levels of procurement activities in recent years.
Eni Norge, as an oil company operating within the Norwegian petroleum sector, is subject to the Norwegian Public Procurements Act.
Strategy and legislation
The majority of the major contracts linked to the development phase have already been awarded. Following production start-up, planned for late 2013, Eni will require a range of services linked to operation of the field.
